Title: Headlight Refinishing
Post by: djohn89 on October 01, 2014, 09:54:42 AM
I recently had the wonderful experience of trying to remove touch up paint from my headlights.  It's a long story that I won't get into much detail with.  I tried a headlight restore kit, RainX, after attempting to remove the paint to the best of my ability.  After going through the various grits supplied, the headlights now look like complete crap.

Anyone have some thoughts on a solid approach to improve this?  I can still see an outline where the paint was.  I will be repeating the process for the restore kit but I don't anticipate this outline will go away.

Had always been told wetsanding was the way to go. I haven't gone any further than plastix restorer.

Might just hit up a body shop or get the power buffer out?

Wet sanding ftw.  Takes about 30 min and makes them look brand new.
