taillight trade?
« on: December 01, 2010, 02:20:26 PM »
I have a set of 05 taillights that have been tinted using night shade.  I'm looking to trade out for a pair of 05 non-tinted tails, any takers?  I live in Omaha.  If there is interest I will post pics, thanks.

This might do better in the wanted or for sale section.

You should be able to get the nightshade off by applying more nightshade and wiping it off while its wet.

Sorry should of scrolled down further before posting :-[.  As for applying more I already spayed it with clearcoat, and I don't want to risk messing up the plastic with a remover.

what about oven cleaner? I used it on my subaru logo and it took the paint right off but left the plastic perfect  ;)

Im not 100% sure this would work, buuuuttt it is an idea

I've used Acetone on tinted tail lights to remove it with no horror stories to tell. Worth a shot imo.
Just make sure to clean it well after you get the paint off. and don't get it on your actual body paint!

every thought about 1000 grit and some water? Nite shade says their product is removable the less time it spends in the sun. If its only been on a few hours to a few days then the previous methods will work, if longer than you will have to sand down as much as you can with wet sand paper and then try a plastic buffing kit once you get to red/clear again (I forget what the 05's look like)

Best of luck, if worst comes to it, try nasioc (prepare to get flamed) or buy a new set.
