If you were me, what would you do with $200?
« on: April 24, 2012, 01:36:02 PM »
So, I just found out yesterday that I get $200 to spend on my car--'06 LGT Spec.B. I just got it in January and the only thing I have done to it (aside from repair the bumper) is tint. It came with the suspension completely done (STI pinks, Whiteline roll center kit, Cobb swaybars, all the brackets, links, buschings upgraded, etc). With only $200 beans to spend I'm not sure what to do next to it. I'm not in a big rush to do a bunch of performance mods. The only thing I've considered doing to it is to get the Spec.B badge for the trunk but I go back and forth on that and it would only use up $50 worth of what I have to spend. I also thought about having the wheels refurbed because 3 of the 4 corners have been curbed (not by me I might add) and have some minor rash on them--not too noticable but there if you're looking. Front lip would be an option but I have yet to find one for the Spec.B (maybe I'm not looking in the right place or using the right search words) or a clear bra on the front end to help with rock damage. Just had the front bumper repainted so I'm keen to keep it nice...

Opinions? Suggestions?

Just bought my first subie in january 2012 and absolutely love her!!! '06 Subaru Legacy GT Spec B #263

Mostly stock except for tint and some seriously worked suspension.

I'd probably do the wheels if you can get them done for $200 (WheelTech was over $200 for me for straightening 2 wheels with slight pothole dents). What about a tune?
the bottom line is this, people just need to realize that when they buy cheap CO's [KW on down], they are buying cheap, poorly engineered shocks for the sake of having height adjust-ability. - whitetiger on legacygt.com

Well, I assumed that I would need a downpipe at least before getting a tune, but I suppose that's not necessarily true, huh? It still has and ECU even without the downpipe... hmmm... what could I expect out of a tune if just about everything else was stock?

It's always such a great feeling when you get a new bra, know what I mean?
You know--you just feel all special and pretty. :P
But if it was not for the car and it cost me $200 it had better be a magic bra! Or diamond studded or something!

You're preaching to the choir. We all love the feel of a good bra. If you don't go with the bra, I would say hold onto the 200 until it's 500 and get something you will really enjoy! How's the sound system? Adequate or needs improvement?

I love the look of a new bra, something fascinating about how they can drastically change the look of a front end.
