Was given the heads up about this on Tuesday and thought I would share since I hope to get just a bit more boost going in my car soon and want to save money for a proper intercooler setup.
But in the meantime I think I'll give this a try.

This is a good mod I did this to mine a month or so ago. I did not double up the rails and I connected the top and bottom together differently but its really just a tweek. It's great and SeeeYa is a good dude!

The idea of the 'mod' is pretty interesting as a stop-gap...and covering up the tracks of the stupid engineer/accountant who decided a plastic end-tanked intercooler was a great idea.

However, the LegacyGT thread is hilarious.

"Not to mention raising your center of gravity with a ton of aluminum up high."

I hope that was some well thought-out trolling.

Depends on who's saying it, there are people on both sides of that argument, haha.

What size rail did you use?

I used the 3/8". To bad, I was at the meet yesterday and could have shown it to you.

I was at home depot this afternoon trying to find the proper stuff.  Couldn't find what I needed.
The section with all their C-channel was a friggin joke of a mess (L St location).
May hit the location by work (Papillion).

I have the plans he sent me if you want them. It is not complicated but the channel needs to be trimmed to fit as the actual intercooler side sits deeper than the end tank side. I think I ended up going to the lowes on maple to find the channel but yes I went to two other places first as they were all out of the 3/8" channel.

I would love to see the plans!
