So this happened today
« on: March 27, 2013, 09:51:17 PM »
 :sadbanana
While at the carwash, (one of the power washer places) I was spraying a bug off of the headlight cover and managed to get it off, and the clear coat on my foglight cover.
Anyone else experienced this? is it possible that these are aftermarket covers? Ive never seen the clear peel like that, and I did not feel like i was in one area for too long with too much pressure or anything.

Also has anyone had any experience with something like this? wondering how well the paint matches.

I suppose my other option is to add fog lights.

That totally sucks  :sadbanana

You could always try the canned WRB paint from Grimmspeed.

You can buy new covers that are already painted.  They pop right out.

new covers are like $120 from Subaru, so worst case scenario thats fine. just curious how the paint match would be from an ebay copy. or how well the part would fit.

If its just the clear coat that peeled off, you won't need to repaint it. Sanding the clear to blend in with the under coat and respray with a clear coat would fix your fog light cover. As long as the paint color is still there you can repair it.

^for a fog cover, that's a little but overkill.

Proper prep, couple coats of clear, wet sand/buff and about an hour of work.
