AC advice
« on: June 08, 2013, 11:13:56 PM »
My AC wasn't working so well a few months back, It hissed a lot, and one day died.

Two weeks ago I replaced the expansion valve, as thats what my research had suggested was broken. Of course, I did it wrong, the valve was missing an o-ring, and had some leaks... I took it out, and replaced the rings, and drew a good vacuum on it this time around.

Things seem to be going well, but the AC system still hisses at me. Any ideas on why? Did I over fill? Not fill it enough? I failed to hook up the car to the vacuum manifold after I filled it, to get a pressure reading on it. (probably mistake on my part)

I need ideas on what to check. Any and all thoughts are appreciated.

under the dash, passenger side.

I did make a discovery last night. It hisses regardless of AC button being depressed. If the heater is on, it'll hiss as well. I'm starting to suspect blower motor. I'll be looking into that in the near future.
