V3 Accessport
« on: August 09, 2013, 08:09:08 PM »
Well well...old friends.

So, I have just learned that there is a version 3 Accessport and allegedly you can marry and unmarry more than just the one vehicle...

So, unless I am missing something....The wife drives a MY07 FSXT and I drive a MY12 WRX.

Is it true with this new version that I may go back and forth between the two cars with the AP?  With only one running the software at once, of course.  But to marry and unmarry and go drive the AP car is a possibility?

I'm hoping so anyway.

Whatcha think?

Thanks!

Brian

Haven't read anything about that. What is your source?
the bottom line is this, people just need to realize that when they buy cheap CO's [KW on down], they are buying cheap, poorly engineered shocks for the sake of having height adjust-ability. - whitetiger on legacygt.com

Please note that the Accessport is designed to work with only one vehicle at a time. Once the Accessport is installed, it cannot be used with another vehicle until it is uninstalled from the original vehicle---straight from the v3 owners manual.

^ True, but can be done now.  I'm just reading up on the AP for the first time ever.  Would be nice to have.  So time wise, can be unmarried and remarried to a car in how long do you think?  Is this like a two hour software exchange, or minutes?

I will do more research also.

Cheers.

Hey Brian.

I'd assume this is a process that only takes a few minutes like with the V2.  I haven't read up on the V3 AP much, but I'd assume that to the marrying or unmarrying process only takes a few minutes tops in both directions. I know that with the V1, it would take a good 15-20 minutes.  Bear in mind that when the Accessport in unmarried from the vehicle, all tuning changes are erased from the ECU and it reverts back to a stock tune.

Hi Joel.

Yes, I am aware of the back to stock ECU flash before going to another vehicle.  But still pretty versatile if you own more than one Subaru that is compatible with the V3.

Thanks!

Well I have to say a nice buy.  Stage 1 91 Octane is a much smoother tune over stock.  Everything from idle to just normal throttle response.  Soon I will see what it can do for the wife's Forester...
