is this compressor surge or wg flutter?
« on: October 15, 2013, 10:27:30 AM »
put a gfb respons bov on my 04 wrx.  set at softest and 20% vent.  started hearing this noise, which isn't very loud, but noticeable, when i lift off the gas during shifts or when i stab and release.  you can hear it in unison to the pssshht sound best at about 7-11 seconds.  is it comp. surge?  if so will be going back to stocker.  not seeing any kinked vac lines, boost loads fine, vac at -18/-19 per gauge when idling.  piston seems to open just fine on bov and bov/tmic gaskets brand new.  is this something that could be tuned out or is it just due to excess air?

quick mods to intake/boost system

big tmic, stock turbo, gfb respons bov, zero sports afta maf tube, panel filter, snorkel delete.  stock boost control for now.  hybrid at tune.   n1 cbe.  stock dp and up (to be swapped very soon)
