Detailer? 10 year old paint repair
« on: March 06, 2016, 11:12:33 PM »
Getting a new bumper in April and looking for a detailer to make the rest of my car look new again. I've done all the basics but have no experience with polishes and permanent removal of swirls and am a bit intimidated and don't want to make it worse.

I had Owner's Pride do my car and they did an amazing job. They even offered to give me a ride into work.

Details by Tate is also a forum sponsor who has a section, send him a PM or check out his pricing thread for more info on that.

Sometimes there's only so much you can do with an older car.  It will depend on the condition of the clear coat.  When I took the badges off my '00 Impreza, there was a limit to what I could do with it since the car had been parked outside for years and the clear coat was thin.  Any sort of rotary buffing would've stripped it or ruined it.  Owners Pride or Details by Tate would be able to help you determine what course of action is best for the paint you have.
