not sure what prepared class that would put you in Jake.

XP is for sure available, but there is another ?P class you can likely fit into.

does anybody run for the #### of it?
i would love to just run the course for the #### of it
my car is pretty sad though

98 2.5rs
old junky no name adjustable springs
kyb agx adjustable struts
no name intake piping
advanced auto replacement a/f
off road-### generic tires - all seasons

no search needed, but curious, off the top of your head, would this put me in street touring?
- id be in bad shape, shes lifted as much as it goes, probly 1/2 to about an inch higher than stock, which would not do well on track, i know

-1 more thing, any main reasons they wouldnt let you run??

Loose battery will cut you quickly.  Need to have a good tie down.

Positive trottle return is a must.

Non-squishy brakes

Bald tires are a no go.

To be honest your first time you could just pic a class sts is a good guess, they will not challenge you bing in that class, and you are far enough in the season you are not going to win out.

Worst thing they would do is retor activily change you to a different class.  Show up when the for says class talk it out with the guys, they may change their mind, should not be a big deal.

Worst they can really do is throw out your runs.

Sneel 95 or newer helmet is a good idea.  They should have loaners.

I Auto x'd  ,y 04 WRX for 2 years in KC, started in STX, then stage 2 put me in ESP, then GMC Envoy totaled my car. R-Comps and race rims would't swap over, so I sold them, moved to Omaha last year so too busy to Auto X, sad sad story.:(

So, this year I want to jump back in it.  Seems like BSP or SM are the way to go, I cam make the ST call later.

I am really just hoping someone is as familiar with SP as I used to be and can say "X,Y, and Z disqualify you from BSP"  then I can choose to pull it, or run SM.

Is Launch Control or FFS legal at all in Auto X?  A quick flash will kill it, but flashign every week, or, driving without it, are less optimal.  :)

The different Top mount and since I'm sure you changed the boost in your tune is automatic SM.  You can still have a tune but keep the boost the same.

Not sure about launch control. My guess would be a no no as well.

Change those and your good for BSP,  You could even qualify for STU if you take out the pitch stop.  Be nice to see someone give Christy a good challenge.

The only possible red flag for BSP I see is the GM boost control solenoid, and the Kartboy Pitch Stop Mount if it is metal/aluminum. Everything else seems legit to me, even that Lock down kit. Launch control is fine and I don't see why FFS would be a big issue really.

You may want to run the street tire index class unless you're going to change to r-compounds.

David, you're thinking 2007 or 2008 rules. Boost is open in Street Prepared classes. Ever since the STi moved from ESP to BSP this has been in effect. Also the intercooler replacement is still Street Prepared legal.

I highly recommend you go to the first post in this thread, download the 2010 rules PDF's and read stock, and street prepared rules/regs. A lot has changed since the last time you read it.

Well, to simplify, maybe, haha ..  My car is as stated in the profile pic...  bone stock.  Nothing done to it whatsoever, all factory replacement parts, just some Kuhmo Solus KR21s.

From looking at the SCCA site, maybe HS?

Yeah you can me Stage to in ESP with a WRX.  STX you cannot because a DP will cause CEL's and you cannot fix CEL's in STX (atleast in 2007).

Jon I have resisted you for the last time I will read the rules.

The GMBCS is odd because you are using the same turbo, same actuator, same wwiring harness, same ECU, just a different Solenoid and plumbing is a little different.

Pitch mount is metal, the lock down kit has these 2 bolts that tie the rear diff subframe to the frame, pretty sure it is illegal for the same reason as the dog bone.

I read all these rules in 07, and even read there can be some confusing parts.. :(

Like Rockus said, they will eat me alive at a mid divs in SM...  :(

Subaru models NOC H Stock HS

So I am pretty sure, yes HS, with the non-S Mini's

Yes... but I would also consider the indexed street tire class.  HS - ST

The bigger issue is you can't touch boost levels in ST* based classes.

The GMBCS is odd because you are using the same turbo, same actuator, same wwiring harness, same ECU, just a different Solenoid and plumbing is a little different.

Understood, but no where does it say you can change the sensors to non-OE ones so it isn't legal. technically.

Pitch mount is metal, the lock down kit has these 2 bolts that tie the rear diff subframe to the frame, pretty sure it is illegal for the same reason as the dog bone.

Are you talking about the whiteline lock down kit?  The Perrin one looked like poly bushings you sandwich around the OE ones.

I see : http://www.perrinperformance.com/shared/PERRIN/documents/instructions/subaru/pspsus525.pdf

yeah... those lock down bolts in the empty holes will be illegal for SP... I'd need to re-read SM too.

Since: "any DOT legal tire that fits on the OEM size rim" is the deal, would you think I'd benefit any from a stickier compound?

If it'd mean being more competitive inside the whole class, I'd consider getting the most advantageous tire setup possible (and maybe a front sway bar)...

But, if there's a big difference in competition between the overall and the indexed street tire class, I wouldn't want to go all out for the sake of a few seconds that ultimately don't matter.  (especially as the car will remain stock for an ever shorter amount of time... probably only one season)

The Boost control solenoid is not a sensor, but I get your point.  I can swap back to a stocker, but I would have to have it tuned, or turn it myself.  :?

Yes, the bolts, the sandwicked ones should be golden in SP classes.

SM is looking better and better.  SM-ST maybe, but I will be so underprepared do I really want to be in the big ST pool?

You will need to adjust some parameters when you go back to the stock solenoid.  Which ones I have no idea.   ^_^

Run ST pax.  You are about as underpreped in SM ST as I am in ASP ST.   -_-
