Mysterious Clunk.
« on: April 09, 2010, 08:11:39 AM »
I have developed an odd clunk.  Seems to be front left.

Seems to happen at low speads under low load.

Never happens on the highway.

Uneven ground or accel in a corner.

I have been under it twice.

all seems fine with Top nut on strut, sway bar end links, sway bar brackets, motor mounts.

I have looked at but not check the crash bolts 9bottome strut bolts at the knuckle, but it seems like I would feel that in the wheel..

The clunk is a similare sound to a loose top nut..

Pretty odd.

I tightened one endlink bolt like 1/8 of a turn and it went away.. didn;t seem like nearly enough slack to caus a noise, but, if it is gone...  :)
